inZOI, the new life simulator from Krafton, has shattered records by selling 1 million copies within its first week of release. This marks the fastest sales milestone ever achieved by a game published by the South Korean giant, showcasing the immense popularity and appeal of this title.
Launched in Early Access on Steam for PC on March 28, inZOI quickly captured the gaming community's attention, though not without controversy. Shortly after its release, players discovered a disturbing glitch allowing them to run over and kill children in-game. Krafton swiftly addressed this issue, labeling it an "unintended bug" and releasing a patch to fix it.
Despite this initial hiccup, inZOI has garnered a 'very positive' user review rating on Steam and achieved a peak of 175,000 concurrent viewers on Twitch, securing the third spot in the Games category. Remarkably, it soared to the top of Steam's Global Top Sellers List based on sales revenue just 40 minutes after its launch.
The in-game user-generated content platform, Canvas, also saw tremendous engagement, with over 1.2 million participants on launch day and more than 470,000 pieces of content uploaded, demonstrating the vibrant creativity of the inZOI community.
IGN's review of inZOI's Early Access version awarded it a 6/10, noting, "inZOI is a visually striking life simulator with plenty of ambition, but not enough depth as of its Early Access launch."
Krafton attributes inZOI's success to its pre-launch promotional efforts and ongoing communication with the community, which have built trust and momentum. The inZOI global showcase and demo build were particularly effective in generating high interest, according to Krafton.
CEO CH Kim expressed gratitude and excitement about presenting inZOI to a global audience through Early Access, emphasizing Krafton's commitment to continuous engagement with players and the development of inZOI as a long-term franchise IP.

Looking ahead, Krafton plans to roll out future updates that will include new content, mod support, and new cities. All updates and DLC will be provided free of charge until the game's full release, ensuring continuous enhancement and engagement for players.
In response to player feedback and reported issues, Krafton has committed to applying quick fixes through hotfixes throughout April. Acknowledging the scale of inZOI's global community as a "next-level experience," Krafton admits to undergoing some "trial and error" in optimizing communication with its player base.
