The developers of inZOI have apologized for the inclusion of Denuvo DRM in the game and have committed to its removal. Read on to learn more about the studio's official statement on the matter and their goal to create a highly moddable experience.

The developers of inZOI have confirmed that Denuvo DRM will be removed from the game. Over the past day, multiple reports indicated that the Creative Studio mode demo contained the anti-tamper software. The use of Denuvo in video games has long been a point of contention, with many sources claiming it negatively impacts performance.
This DRM and anti-tamper technology is intended to prevent the unauthorized copying and distribution of PC games, making it challenging for individuals to pirate the title and release cracked versions.
In a Steam blog post dated March 26, inZOI Director Hyungjun 'Kjun' Kim addressed these concerns, confirming that the Early Access build launching on Friday will not include any DRM technology. "Our initial decision to implement Denuvo was driven by a desire to protect the game from illegal distribution. We believed this would help ensure a fair experience for players who purchased the game legitimately. However, after carefully reviewing community feedback, we quickly understood that this decision did not meet our players' expectations," Kjun explained.

He also apologized for failing to communicate that Denuvo would be part of the Creative Studio mode. Kjun acknowledged that while removing the DRM increases the risk of the game being cracked and illegally shared, it also makes inZOI fully configurable, offering players greater opportunities for customization and creative expression. "We believe that providing this freedom from the start will foster innovative and lasting enjoyment within our community," he stated.

inZOI has consistently emphasized the importance of modding, which made the initial inclusion of Denuvo confusing for players, as the software typically restricts the ability to add mods and custom content.
Kjun stressed, "As I mentioned during the Online Showcase, we are dedicated to making inZOI a game that fully supports mods. Our first phase of official mod support will launch in May, enabling players to use tools like Maya and Blender to create their own content. But this is just the start. We plan to progressively expand mod support to more parts of the game, allowing you to customize and enrich your experience in numerous ways."
He announced that a separate, detailed post about modding support will be published soon. Krafton remains focused on putting players first, actively listening to community input and making necessary adjustments to deliver a high-quality gaming experience.
inZOI is scheduled to enter Early Access on March 28, 2025, for PC. The full launch will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The specific release date for the full version has not yet been announced.
