Exciting updates are on the horizon for REPO as the developers at Semiwork prepare to roll out significant tweaks to the game's Overcharge mechanic and difficulty scaling. These changes, inspired by fan feedback during the recent open beta, aim to enhance the gaming experience by introducing new mechanics every 10 levels, starting with Overcharge at level 10.

REPO Development Updates

Overcharge Overhaul

During the open beta, Semiwork took note of player reactions to the Overcharge mechanic. This feature allows players to pick up and throw enemies onto hard surfaces or away from their team. However, players must be cautious, as filling the Overcharge meter will cause them to explode. Originally available from the start, Overcharge will now be introduced at level 10, marking the beginning of a series of difficulty-increasing mechanics.

As players progress through the game, new challenges will be unlocked at levels 20, 30, and beyond, each tied to the game's lore. According to Semiwork, "So this system will be also tied to lore. It won’t be just a gimmick for no reason. There will be something attached to this and we will share more details in the future."

In a unique approach to gather firsthand feedback, Semiwork developers, including Pontus Sundstrom, joined random matches incognito during the open beta. Sundstrom expressed his delight at seeing players enjoy the new additions to the game, stating, "And I've also actually played with a lot of you guys - incognito, in secret, through the random matchmaking in the servers." He further noted, "And I've been asking some questions and finding out what you guys find fun, stuff like that."

With the valuable insights gained from the community, Semiwork is committed to refining REPO in upcoming updates. Players can anticipate more exciting developments as the developers promise to reveal further details soon. To stay updated with the latest on R.E.P.O., be sure to follow our articles.
