Capcom has released a significant update for Monster Hunter Wilds with hotfix 1.000.05.00, now available across all platforms. This patch focuses on resolving various progression blockers and fixing numerous bugs, ensuring a smoother gameplay experience for all players. However, it's important to note that the patch notes do not include any performance improvements.

Despite its record-breaking launch, Monster Hunter Wilds continues to hold a 'mixed' user review rating on Steam, primarily due to performance issues reported by PC players. Nevertheless, the game's success is undeniable, having sold an impressive 8 million copies within just three days of its release, making it the fastest-selling Capcom game to date. It also achieved the fifth highest concurrent player count on Steam, peaking at 1,384,608 players, surpassing the likes of Dota 2, Cyberpunk 2077, and Elden Ring. For context, Monster Hunter: World had a peak of 334,684 players.

Looking ahead, a title update for Monster Hunter Wilds is scheduled for early April, promising to introduce a new endgame area for gathering and additional monster hunting adventures for players to enjoy.
