inZOI developers have resolved a controversial bug that allowed players to hit children with vehicles, addressing the issue in their latest update. Discover more about this unexpected gameplay element and insights from the inZOI director on their commitment to realism.

As inZOI's Early Access reveals more gameplay mechanics, players uncovered an alarming glitch enabling vehicular collisions with child characters. A March 28 Reddit post titled "I don't think Krafton realizes you can run over children in inZOI" showcased footage where a car impact launched a child character violently through the air, resulting in fatal consequences.
While developers had mentioned vehicle-related fatalities for adult Zois during their showcase, the inclusion of children was unintentional. A Krafton representative told Eurogamer this was an oversight now corrected, stating: "These depictions violate our content standards and don't represent inZOI's values. We're implementing stricter review procedures to prevent similar issues moving forward." This adjustment aligns with the game's Teen ESRB rating, maintaining appropriate content boundaries.

Despite earning "Very Positive" Steam reviews for its stunning visuals, Game Director Hyungjun 'Kjun' Kim acknowledged limitations of their realistic approach in a March 31 PCGamesN interview: "We constantly balanced how far to push realism. Some whimsical concepts we wanted to include simply didn't suit our grounded aesthetic."

While admiring The Sims 4's trademark humor, Kim explained inZOI's visual fidelity makes such elements challenging to implement organically. "Our immersive graphics create unique engagement possibilities that excite us as developers," he noted, emphasizing their commitment to this distinctive style despite the creative constraints it presents.
As inZOI establishes itself against established life-simulation competitors, the team continues refining the game's identity while leveraging its technical achievements. For full impressions of the Early Access experience, explore our detailed coverage below.
