Ed Boon Confirms Homelander and Omni-Man Will Play Differently

During his interview with IGN, Boon addressed fan concerns about the potential overlap in combat styles between Homelander and Omni-Man. He assured fans that the MK1 development team is taking a creative approach to differentiate the two. The team has been given the freedom to explore various ideas for these characters, but they are determined to avoid replicating the same Superman-esque abilities. Boon stated, "Obviously, we could do anything with the characters, but I don’t think we’re going to have both Homelander and Omni-Man have heat vision or something like that."

Boon further elaborated on how the team is drawing inspiration from the heroes' actions in their respective shows to craft unique Fatalities for each character. He emphasized, "They’re definitely going to play differently. The main attacks are going to really differentiate them, but we’re definitely aware of the assumption that some people were making on, ‘Oh, they’re just going to be the same characters.'" This approach aims to provide players with a fresh and engaging experience, making each character feel truly distinct within the MK1 universe.
