Following its debut trailer, Dune: Awakening confirms a May 20th, 2025 launch on PC via Steam, with PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions coming later. Developer Funcom has unlocked the Character Creator and Benchmark Mode, enabling players to design their Arrakis-bound hero while testing their PC's performance.

The comprehensive character tool allows customization of every visual detail, plus selection of homeworld, social standing, and mentor. These creations will carry over to the full game. Early adopters receive an exclusive Frameblade knife skin redeemable at launch.

The Benchmark Sequence evaluates hardware capabilities, automatically optimizing graphical settings. Players experience a desert base, explore the bustling Harko Village hub, and witness a colossal sandworm encounter.
