The life sim genre is set to welcome a fresh entry with the upcoming Heartopia.
XD Inc is stepping into the scene with this new release.
It’s scheduled to launch in 2026, offering players a chance to explore a vibrant island paradise.
Life sims have long dominated mobile gaming, with titles like Stardew Valley consistently drawing attention alongside other hits such as Play Together. Now, XD Inc—the team behind Etheria Restart—is preparing to enter the fray with Heartopia.
Coming in 2026, Heartopia shares clear inspirations with Play Together, but its lush, beautifully rendered island environment pushes visual appeal even further. Gameplay, however, draws heavy influence from Stardew Valley.
As shown in the gameplay and vlog trailer, Heartopia invites players to unwind in a richly detailed open world. Six core hobbies are available: Fishing, Gardening, Cat Care, Bug Catching, Birdwatching, and Cooking. Completing these activities unlocks new entries in an in-game encyclopedia, accompanied by rewarding perks.

Attendees of this month’s Tokyo Game Show will have the chance to experience Heartopia firsthand. The event will feature a cosplay contest with cash prizes and a Heartopia plush raffle.
Heartopia appears to be a compelling addition to the life sim genre. We’ll likely learn more soon—especially what sets it apart in a mobile space where life sims are increasingly becoming the norm, alongside traditional genres like puzzle games.
