EC Comics Debuts Bloody Vampire Tale

Oni Press has achieved significant success with its revival of the legendary EC Comics brand. This summer, the lineup expands with the launch of Blood Type, a vampire-themed series emerging from the anthology Epitaphs From the Abyss.

Blood Type kicks off a slate of EC Comics spinoffs debuting in Summer 2025. The creative team includes writer Corinna Bechko (Cruel Universe, Green Lantern: Earth One), artist Andrea Sorrentino (Gideon Falls, Old Man Logan), and colorist Dave Stewart (Hellboy). The debut issue showcases variant covers by Sorrentino, Miguel Mercado (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Albert Monteys (Universe!), and Naomi Franq (Black Hammer: Barbalien).

Oni's official synopsis:

WHEN YOU'RE A VAMPIRE, EVERYONE BECOMES PREY... EVENTUALLY. Meet Ada, an immortal vampire whose dark past leads her to a luxurious Caribbean resort—a paradise of wealthy tourists and superstitious locals, offering endless feeding opportunities. But as Ada establishes her new hunting grounds, she discovers a deadlier predator lurking in the shadows, one driven by greed and power. Who will survive when a new BLOOD TYPE challenges a ruthless vampire with nothing to lose... and what remains when the bloodshed ends?

Blood Type #1 releases June 18, 2025. Oni will also reprint the original short story in EC Presents: Blood Type #0 for Free Comic Book Day 2025.
