The action-packed RPG Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?: Battle Chronicle (DanChro) will terminate its service in September 2025, two years after its global debut. The directors announced today that the game could no longer deliver the quality of experience players expect.
Launched in August 2023, DanChro garnered over one million pre-registrations and surpassed three million downloads. Built on the DanMachi franchise, it blended vibrant 3D combat with character collection, supported by consistent updates. Yet, it joins a growing number of gacha mobile games shuttered despite promising starts.
For its final chapter, DanChro will introduce a Second Anniversary event on July 30th, showcasing an exclusive story by series creator Fujino Omori. This marks the game’s last content update. Paid Selas sales will halt post-maintenance on the same day, with the game and customer support closing across all platforms by September’s end.
With giants like Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail, and Blue Archive dominating player attention and revenue, games like DanChro struggle to retain audiences. Without bold innovation or unique positioning, more mid-tier gacha RPGs risk similar closures.
DanChro’s final day is September 29th. Players can use their Selas, join the second anniversary celebration, and enjoy remaining events until then. Check the official website for the full event schedule.
