Nintendo has put fans at ease by confirming that The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom on the Nintendo Switch 2 will indeed support cloud saves. This comes as a relief following initial concerns sparked by a disclaimer on Nintendo's website, which suggested that this highly anticipated game might not offer this feature. As reported by IGN, the previous message stated: "Please note: this software does not support the Nintendo Switch Online paid membership’s Save Data Cloud backup feature."

However, Nintendo has since updated the information on its website. While the page for Donkey Kong Bananza has removed all references to cloud saves, the revised disclaimer for Tears of the Kingdom now reads: "Save data created in the second save data slot in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition cannot be transferred to The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom on Nintendo Switch." This clarification suggests that players will be able to transfer their existing Switch 1 saves to the new Switch 2, but transferring Switch 2 saves back to the original console won't be possible, as noted by Eurogamer.

This approach to save data is also mirrored on the page for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, indicating a consistent policy across these enhanced versions of popular Switch 1 titles.

In other news, pre-orders for the Nintendo Switch 2 have commenced, with the console priced at $449.99. As expected, the demand has been high. For those interested, IGN's Nintendo Switch 2 pre-order guide offers further details and assistance.
