Fresh from the success of Dynasty Warriors: Origins, Koei Tecmo introduces a thrilling new title to the musou genre with Warriors: Abyss, available starting today. This innovative roguelite game features beloved characters from the Warriors series, delivering an exciting twist on the classic formula.
Showcased at today's PlayStation State of Play, Warriors: Abyss allows players to form a squad and battle through hordes of enemies in an isometric perspective, evoking the style of Diablo and the critically acclaimed roguelite, Hades. The game promises an intense journey through the depths of "hell," where players will confront demonic foes.
Today's footage highlighted iconic characters such as Zhou Yu, Nobunaga Oda, and Sunshang Xiang, each ready to join your team. According to the PlayStation Blog, players can recruit and expand their roster over time, with up to seven active heroes in battle. At launch, a diverse pool of 100 warriors will be available for players to choose from.
Koei Tecmo has plans to further enrich the game by introducing new characters, starting with those from the Jin kingdom in Dynasty Warriors. The developer hinted at future waves of characters, suggesting the possibility of including figures from beyond the Warriors universe.
Warriors: Abyss is now available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. Nintendo Switch users can look forward to its release on February 13, 2025. For those interested in additional in-game content, the Dynasty Warriors Costume Set is available for purchase until March 14, 2025.
