Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 will continue receiving DLC support for a second year, with its major 10.0 update already revealing exciting additions.

Following Space Marine 2's impressive sales of 7 million copies, publisher Focus Entertainment and developer Saber Interactive confirmed expanded Year 2 content featuring fresh PvE missions, enemy types, weapons, and unrevealed surprises.

Launched in September 2024, the game will celebrate its first anniversary with September's massive 10.0 update - though players can expect Patch 9.0 first with balancing adjustments, as its planned PvP mode was postponed to the larger 10.0 release.

The delayed PvP mode introduces Chaos faction warfare with playable Helbrutes - terrifying Chaos Dreadnought variants piloted by trapped Space Marines, familiar to players from campaign encounters. This Chaos-themed mode also brings highly anticipated Chaos armor sets.

Update 10.0 will debut the Power Axe melee weapon, complete with unique combat animations. Our exclusive preview:

The Power Axe aligns with Games Workshop's Space Wolves promotion in tabletop Warhammer 40k, following early modder implementations riffing on Secret Level's Warhammer 40,000 episode.

Most significantly, developers confirmed the Techmarine class debut for both PvE and PvP modes - currently in advanced development with previews coming soon.

The Techmarine's arrival was foreshadowed in datamined files referencing 'shoulder gun bolter' perks. These tech-specialist Space Marines serve as engineer-operatives devoted simultaneously to their Chapter and the Cult Mechanicus, excelling at vehicle and Dreadnought maintenance.

This wealth of new content arrives despite surprising confirmation of Space Marine 3's development, following Patch 8.0's recent Siege Mode horde-style addition.
