Just when it seemed like the Pokémon TCG had plenty on its plate with sets like Destined Rivals and Black Bolt and White Flare, an entirely new series has arrived with the Mega Brave and Mega Symphonia expansions.
Announced at Japan's Championship tournament, as reported by PokeBeach, these two new sets featuring Mega Lucario ex and Mega Gardevoir ex signify the popular trading card game moving beyond its Scarlet and Violet era. They are scheduled for release on August 1, 2025, in Japan, and on September 26 in English-language markets, with preorders rumored to begin on September 13.

Instead of continuing the long-running Scarlet and Violet block, the focus now shifts to Mega Evolutions from the upcoming game, Pokémon Legends: Z-A.
Mega Brave and Mega Symphonia will each contain 63 cards (before counting secret rares), officially launching the new Mega block. The reveal also showcased visually stunning full-art cards for Pokémon and items, including Rare Candy, Night Stretcher, Bulbasaur, Vulpix, and Inteleon.
Reports indicate both sets will have a Pokémon Center Mega Set bundle. This includes 60 booster packs across two boxes, a storage box featuring the set's respective cover Pokémon, four dividers, a deck box with artwork of either Acerola or Lillie, and matching character-themed card sleeves. The Japanese price is set at 12,800 yen (approximately $87), though official U.S. pricing remains unannounced.

A Premium Trainer Box is also slated for release at 6,350 yen in Japan (around $47), with its U.S. price yet to be confirmed. This box will contain 20 booster packs (10 from each set), 51 unique cards, a storage box, Poison/Burn markers, damage counters with a case, and a damage storage box.
As PokeBeach noted in early June, The Pokémon Company informed tournament organizers that pre-release allocations would be lower than usual, exacerbating the TCG's ongoing issue with product shortages.
We will update this article with more concrete details on preorders for the English versions of Mega Brave and Mega Symphonia in the US and UK as soon as we have them, so you can act quickly.
