The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered brings new life to Bethesda's classic with enhanced visuals, updated gameplay mechanics, and more, yet the team at Virtuos chose to retain one of the original game's most memorable quirks.
Veteran fans of The Elder Scrolls series will fondly remember Master Speechcraft trainer Tandilwe, a High Elf residing in the Temple of the One in the Imperial City. When Oblivion originally launched for PC and Xbox 360 over 19 years ago, it became evident that Tandilwe's voice acting could have used some additional refinement. One of her lines includes a recording of actress Linda Kenyon seemingly re-recording a line, which was mistakenly left in the game.

As players embarked on their journey through the revamped Cyrodiil yesterday, many were eager to discover how true the remaster stayed to the original. While the game boasts overhauled environments, character models, and items, it's the preservation of certain imperfections from the 2006 version that has delighted fans. Tandilwe’s now-iconic blooper remains intact, just as it was nearly two decades ago, complete with its absence of subtitles.

In a 2019 interview with YouTube's Jake 'The Voice' Parr, Linda Kenyon acknowledged the infamous Oblivion blooper, humorously stating, "It wasn't my fault!"
While thousands of players dive into Oblivion Remastered and debate whether it's more of a remake than a remaster, many appreciate the preservation of its original quirks. Bethesda and Virtuos made a conscious decision to keep these elements, and the response from both new and returning players has been overwhelmingly positive.
