Netflix Games Loses Two GTA

Netflix Games is losing two major titles next month: Grand Theft Auto III and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. This isn't a surprise; Netflix licenses games like movies, and these licenses are expiring on December 13th. A "Leaving Soon" notification will appear in the app.

Why are they leaving?

The initial 12-month licensing agreement between Netflix and Rockstar Games is concluding. After December 13th, these games will be unavailable to Netflix subscribers. This follows a year-long run on the platform. San Andreas, however, remains available.

What now?

Fans can still access these classic titles via the Google Play Store. Individual games cost $4.99, or the entire trilogy is available for $11.99. Unlike the abrupt removal of some games in the past, Netflix is providing advance notice this time. This is noteworthy, especially considering the significant subscriber growth Netflix experienced in 2023 partly due to the GTA trilogy's inclusion.

Future possibilities:

Rumors suggest Rockstar and Netflix are collaborating on potential future projects, possibly remastered versions of Liberty City Stories, Vice City Stories, and even Chinatown Wars. Fingers crossed!
