Liam Hemsworth Debuts as Geralt in 'The Witcher' S5

The White Wolf makes his final return. Filming for The Witcher Season 5 is now in progress, with new behind-the-scenes images surfacing online showing Liam Hemsworth as lead Geralt of Rivia alongside other returning and fresh faces.

These apparent leaked production photos - available through Witcher fan site Redanian Intelligence - reveal the Hunger Games star in full Geralt regalia sporting the character's iconic platinum locks, alongside veteran cast members like Meng'er Zhang as Milva and Joey Batey as Jaskier, who've remained since Henry Cavill originally anchored the series. Hemsworth's casting as Cavill's replacement for Seasons 4 and 5 was confirmed back in October 2022.

The leaks also showcase new Season 4 additions who will continue into the final season, including veteran actor Laurence Fishburne (known for The Matrix and Morbius) appearing as Emiel Reigs.

From these unofficial set photos, enthusiasts theorize Season 5 may draw heavily from Andrzej Sapkowski's Tower of the Swallow novel, featuring Geralt's encounter with beekeepers who direct him toward druids. However, with Season 4 still unreleased, narrative possibilities remain wide open - leaving fans substantial detective work to piece together clues from these images.

Cavill isn't the sole departure requiring recasting. Kim Bodnia, who played Geralt's mentor Vesemir, won't return for Season 4 due to scheduling issues. Netflix hasn't revealed his replacement nor confirmed a Season 4 premiere date.
