Krysten Ritter is set to reprise her role as Jessica Jones in the upcoming Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again, as announced during the Disney Upfront presentation in New York. This exciting news, reported by Variety, comes after months of speculation about the return of the Netflix Defenders to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
Ritter, who took the stage with her Daredevil and The Defenders co-star Charlie Cox, shared her enthusiasm for stepping back into the shoes of the beloved private investigator. "It’s so great to be back, returning to Jessica after three seasons and The Defenders and now joining the MCU," Ritter stated. "I’m so excited to bring back this iconic character, and without giving too much away, there is much more in store for Jessica Jones. This is going to be an incredible season!"

Ritter first brought Jessica Jones to life in 2015 with the premiere of Season 1 on Netflix. The character's journey continued through two more seasons and the team-up series The Defenders. However, as Netflix's partnership with Marvel began to dissolve, the future of Ritter's portrayal seemed uncertain.
The landscape shifted in 2021 when Disney regained the rights to several Marvel characters, including Jessica Jones. With Charlie Cox reprising his role as Daredevil in Spider-Man: No Way Home and the subsequent Daredevil: Born Again series, fans started to hope for the return of other beloved Netflix heroes. The inclusion of Punisher in Season 1 of Daredevil: Born Again paved the way for Ritter's return in Season 2.
Ritter's last appearance as Jessica Jones was in Season 3, which aired in 2019. Her comments at the upfront presentation hint at more adventures for the character within the MCU, though for now, fans can look forward to seeing her in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2. While a release date has not been set, showrunner Dario Scardapane has indicated that new episodes will be available in March 2026.
