FromSoftware describes the network test as a "preliminary evaluation where selected players experience a segment of the game before its official launch." The company noted, "The test will assess online systems through large-scale network load evaluations." This process will help FromSoftware ensure its servers can handle multiple players simultaneously.

The Elden Ring Nightreign Network Test is scheduled from February 14 to February 16, 2025, with participants able to join five three-hour test sessions.

 ● Session 1 - February 14th, 3 AM to 6 AM PT
 ● Session 2 - February 14th, 7 PM to 10 PM PT
 ● Session 3 - February 15th, 11 AM to 2 PM PT
 ● Session 4 - February 16th, 3 AM to 6 AM PT
 ● Session 5 - February 16th, 7 PM to 10 PM PT

Scalpers and Scammers Target Network Test

Reports have surfaced of a scam on Steam, where players receive fake Elden Ring Nightreign Network Test invitations. Clicking these invites reportedly redirects users to malicious websites, compromising accounts and prompting mass messaging to contact lists with the same fraudulent invite. FromSoftware has only managed registration and confirmations through their official website and social media, so links from other sources are likely unauthorized or harmful.

Following the confirmation email announcement, multiple online marketplaces have listed "confirmed test codes" for sale, despite codes not being distributed until February 11. Scalpers are offering these at inflated prices, ranging from $150 to $200, with some even listed for auction.

Elden Ring Nightreign was unveiled at The Game Awards 2024 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. FromSoftware has indicated a 2025 release window, though no specific launch date has been confirmed.
