Here’s a comprehensive breakdown of Disney Lorcana’s latest announcements to keep you in the loop.

While details about Fabled remain limited, the Disney Lorcana team’s teasers have heightened anticipation for its pre-release on August 29 and full launch on September 5.
A Goofy Movie cards will be a major highlight of Fabled, though specifics about which cards will be included remain under wraps. The team confirmed, however, that Mickey and Minnie will debut as the first Iconic Cards.
Iconic Cards will be the rarest in Disney Lorcana, with only two featured per set moving forward. The Mickey and Minnie carousel cards are expected to be highly sought-after by collectors.
Epic Cards, rarer than Legendary but less elusive than Enchanted or Iconic, will also debut, showcasing unique artwork and foil finishes. Players can look forward to cards like a new Elsa (Snow Queen).
Fabled will also introduce card rotation, making cards from the first four sets ineligible for Core Constructed competitive play, marking a significant shift for high-level tournaments.

Fans of older cards can still enjoy them in formats like Infinity Constructed. Fabled will also reprint select cards from earlier sets, such as Winnie the Pooh (Hunny Wizard), which will remain legal for competitive play.
“Rotating out older cards fosters fresh strategies and dynamic deck-building, ensuring a vibrant competitive scene,” said Ryan Miller, Brand Manager and Co-Designer of Disney Lorcana TCG at Ravensburger. “We’re also reprinting fan-favorite cards from early sets in Fabled, including Enchanted versions, to give players more opportunities to collect them.”
New players can dive into Lorcana with the Collection Starter Set, which includes four Fabled booster packs, a Tinker Bell (Giant Fairy) “Glimmer Foil” Promo Card, a card portfolio featuring Mickey Mouse (Brave Little Tailor), and a collector’s guide.

Reign of Jafar, Lorcana’s eighth set, will hit pre-release on May 30 and launch widely on June 6.
The set continues Lorcana’s narrative, focusing on the Disney villain. According to the official description, “Jafar now wields the Hexwell Crown, twisting Archazia’s Island to his dark desires. In Reign of Jafar, glimmers like Jasmine – Steady Strategist and Rapunzel – High Climber must unite to reclaim the crown and defeat the sinister vizier.”

Alongside the set, Illumineers’ Quest: Palace Heist offers a cooperative “experience-in-a-box” for up to four players to challenge Jafar and his minion.
Players can collect cards like Bambi (Prince of the Forest), Flower (Shy Skunk), Thumper (Young Bunny), Jafar (High Sultan of Lorcana), Magic Carpet (Phantom Rug), and Aladdin (Vigilant Guard).

Disney announced that Whispers in the Well, the set following Fabled, will arrive in Q4 2025. While details are scarce, key art featuring Mickey, Ariel, and a potential Disney Gargoyles inclusion hints at a new Glimmer type.
Looking further ahead, Darkwing Duck will join Lorcana in 2026, fulfilling a long-standing fan request.
The Disney Lorcana World Championship, scheduled for June 28 and 29 at Walt Disney World, will bring together top players vying for the title of the first annual Disney Lorcana TCG World Champion.
Fans can watch the event live on Twitch.TV/DisneyLorcana, with commentary from Rebekah (RebekahQuests), Baker (LorcanaVillain), Liam (The Illumiteers), Brandon (Bsquared24), and JD (JDZ Quest). A non-foil “A Whole New World” promo card will also be available, with more details to come.
