Deltarune is gearing up for a thrilling release on the Switch 2, as revealed during the recent Nintendo Direct for Switch 2 on April 2. This version will feature chapters 3 and 4, along with some exciting exclusive features tailored for the next-gen console.

According to a newsletter from Fangamer by Deltarune developer Toby Fox, the Switch 2 version will introduce a unique room that utilizes the mouse functionality of the new Joy-Cons. Fox enthusiastically shared, "So, we made a very small SPECIAL ROOM which takes advantage of using MOUSE CONTROLS ON TWO CONTROLLERS AT ONCE, only possible on the Nintendo Switch 2!!"

For those with non-Switch 2 devices, the unique room will still be accessible, albeit with a different control scheme. Additionally, players can seamlessly import their save files from the Nintendo Switch demo of Deltarune 1 and 2 to the new version, ensuring a smooth transition.

Deltarune Future Chapters Will Be Free

Toby Fox's newsletter also shed light on the game's pricing, setting Deltarune at $24.99. This price includes Chapters 1 and 2, with the new releases of Chapters 3 and 4. Originally released in 2018 and 2021 respectively, Chapters 1 and 2 were offered for free, but it was previously announced that Chapters 3-5 would be paid.

In a surprising turn, Fox confirmed that all upcoming Chapters will be added as free updates. This means players only need to purchase the game once to enjoy all future content at no additional cost. Fox expressed his vision, stating, "But, it's my hope that as we complete more Chapters, you'll feel like this game was a super super super super good deal."

The game's soundtrack will also be available on Steam for $14.99, featuring over 150 songs from Chapters 3 and 4. Moreover, songs from future Chapters will be added for free, ensuring fans receive comprehensive value from their purchase.
