"Dark Heresy: Next cRPG by Rogue Trader Developer"

Owlcat Games has unveiled their latest project, *Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy*, a sequel to the acclaimed *Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader*. This exciting announcement came during the Warhammer Skulls 2025 showcase, where players were introduced to a new narrative-driven tactical RPG set in the grim and dark universe of Warhammer 40,000.

In *Dark Heresy*, players step into the role of an Inquisitor, a key enforcer for the Imperium tasked with rooting out heresy. The official description sets the scene:

Step into the shadows as an acolyte of the Inquisition in Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy, a second narrative-driven tactical RPG set in the beloved grimdark universe. Set against the backdrop of the Noctis Aeterna and the mystery of the Tyrant Star, players will lead a warband of diverse companions in a desperate battle against heresy and corruption — from loyal Imperial subjects, such as a veteran Guardsman from the death world of Catachan, to nefarious xenos, including a bird-like Kroot mercenary.

With intricate investigations, a turn-based combat system, and choices that carry grave consequences, Dark Heresy is set to deliver an atmospheric dive into the brutality and mysticism of one of the Imperium’s most feared organizations. The game greatly expands on the ideas introduced in Rogue Trader and features fully voiced dialogues.

*Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy* will be available on PC via Steam, GOG, and Epic Games Store, as well as on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S. While no specific release window was provided, anticipation is already building for this immersive experience.

In addition to the new game, Owlcat shared plans for further content for *Rogue Trader*, including the second major story expansion, *Lex Imperialis*, and *Season Pass 2*. *Lex Imperialis* introduces players to the Adeptus Arbites, the Imperium's enforcers of law, and a new companion, Solomorne Anthar, along with battle Familiars such as cybernetic eagles and cyber-mastiffs. This expansion promises to enrich both the gameplay and narrative, set to launch on June 24, 2025.

*Season Pass 2* for *Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader* will include two additional expansions and an appearance customization pack. The third expansion will take players into a Necron vault led by Trazyn the Infinite, challenging ancient guardians and uncovering relics linked to the Von Valancius legacy. The fourth expansion, *Processional of the Damned*, invites players to explore a voidship graveyard, delivering a journey into madness and mystery. Each DLC will introduce new companions, quests integrated into the main storyline, new mechanics, and about 15 hours of gameplay.
