Revue Starlight Re LIVE is officially shutting down. The mobile game, based on the popular anime, will cease operation on September 30th, 2024, at 07:00 UTC, ending nearly six years of service.

Why the Shutdown?

While initially a promising extension of the Revue Starlight story, Revue Starlight Re LIVE struggled to maintain player engagement over its lifespan. Contributing factors include repetitive events, reused assets, and costly battle passes. Furthermore, questionable plot developments, such as a sudden character shift, further alienated players. The closure affects the game globally, including Japan.

Positive Aspects

Despite its shortcomings, the game boasted a strong soundtrack featuring music from the anime, and impressive 3D graphics and Live2D animations.

A Final Farewell?

Although the game's end is imminent, players still have a few weeks to enjoy remaining content. Developers are launching special events in August and September, including a "Thank You For Everything" campaign offering ten daily free pulls and a two-month birthday celebration featuring new character gacha events.
