Today is a landmark moment for Clash of Clans fans—the beloved characters you've grown to love are finally coming to the screen! Well, at least to the television screen, as a brand-new animated series based on Supercell's iconic strategy game, Clash of Clans, is headed to Netflix.

You might recall that just about a month ago, we reported on Supercell's search for a senior film and TV development executive. Back then, it was reasonable to speculate that the company had ambitions to expand its IP into other media—but it seems the plans are moving faster than expected.

So far, only a short teaser has been released to confirm that the animated series is officially in development. Details like a release window, production studio, animators, and other specifics haven't been shared yet. But the fact that it's happening is already a huge deal.

As for what the series might look like, the main hint we have so far is a surprisingly muscular and serious-looking Barbarian. Among Clash of Clans' signature units, this feels like a smart choice. It also hints that the show might offer a slightly more grounded take on the universe.

I say slightly because we all know an overly gritty, dramatic version of Clash of Clans probably wouldn't suit the wide audience Supercell typically attracts.
