The Dark Knight's video game reign: A look back at the best Batman games. For a time, it seemed a new Batman game arrived almost annually. Rocksteady's contributions, in particular, significantly impacted the superhero game genre, a legacy felt even today.

Lately, however, Batman's video game presence has diminished. A true standalone Batman adventure hasn't been released since 2017's The Enemy Within, with no immediate successors on the horizon. While comic fans eagerly anticipate upcoming superhero titles, those wishing to don the cowl will have to explore the past to uncover the best Batman gaming experiences.

He appeared in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, though it's not strictly a Batman-centric title. More importantly, the Arkhamverse expanded with a new VR entry. This review has been updated to reflect this new release and includes expanded commentary on the VR title, and enhanced image galleries for several of the best Batman games.
