Bandai Namco has announced the shutdown of PAC-MAN Mobile, a decision that strikes a poignant note as the iconic character celebrates its 45th anniversary this year. This particular version of the game, which debuted over a decade ago, has been a beloved staple for many mobile gamers.

When Is the PAC-MAN Mobile Shutdown?

The official shutdown date for PAC-MAN Mobile is set for May 30th, 2025. In-app purchases have already been discontinued as of April 1st. If you're among the dedicated players still enjoying the game, you can continue playing until the final day.

The decision to completely shut down the game rather than transition it to an offline mode has left many fans disappointed. An offline version would have kept the game accessible and could have continued generating revenue for Bandai Namco.

Originally known as PAC-MAN + Tournaments, this version of the game offered more than just the classic arcade experience. It included the iconic 8-bit arcade mode alongside a rich Story Mode, featuring numerous original mazes. Additionally, the Adventure Mode provided limited-time themed events with opportunities to earn exclusive skins. The Tournament Mode added weekly maze challenges across three difficulty levels.
