Begin your journey by finding Botim, situated south of the Rinascita-Ragunna-Thessaleo Fells northern Resonance Beacon. He'll explain the plight of his family's ancestral site, plagued by shadowy monsters emanating from three ancient towers. Completing his request initiates the Shadow of the Past quest.

Thorncrown Rises Tower Locations

Three towers need conquering, each representing a sub-quest:

• Resounding Rise: Northeast Tower.
• Twilight Rise: South Tower.
• Command Rise: Southwest Tower.

Resounding Rise

The Resounding Rise Tower lies northeast of Thorncrown Rises. Speak with Itzel, positioned east of the tower, to begin. Inside, navigate the following:

1. Activate the painting at the hallway's end to enter a hidden area.
2. Follow quest markers to engage and defeat the Abyssal Mercator.
3. Collect supply chests in the north, west, and east rooms.
4. Enter the second painting in the eastern room.
5. Defeat more enemies and another Abyssal Mercator.
6. Pursue and defeat a final Abyssal Mercator.
7. Activate the painting behind it to proceed.
8. Open the chest at the hallway's end to stop the enemy attacks.
9. Defeat the final enemy blocking your path.

Solve the painting puzzle:

1. Move the top-left painting to the bottom-right display.
2. Move the painting behind the top-left display to the bottom-left display.
3. Move the top-right painting to the top-left display.
4. Move the painting behind the bottom-right display to the top-right display.
5. Collect the Premium Supply chest.

Finally, engage the last Abyssal Mercator, speak with Itzel, and collect your rewards, weakening one Command Rise Tower barrier.

Twilight Rise

Proceed southeast to the Twilight Rise Tower and speak with Insula to enter. Follow quest markers until you encounter a time loop. Then:

1. Investigate the three marked locations for clues.
2. Speak with Insula.
3. Enter the secret passage beneath the elevator.
4. Defeat the Abyssal Patricius.
5. Collect the supply chest and pursue the Abyssal Patricius further.
6. Defeat the Abyssal Patricius a final time.
7. Speak with Insula again.
8. Collect the Tidal Supply chest.

This completes the Twilight Rise sub-quest and weakens a second Command Rise Tower barrier.

Command Rise

Completing the previous two sub-quests automatically triggers the Command Rise sub-quest.

1. Speak with Insula and Itzel at the camp northeast of the Command Rise Tower.
2. Use the Wingray northwest of the beach to fly to the Command Rise Tower.
3. Enter the Tower and follow quest markers.
4. Collect supply chests.
5. Use the Grapple to ascend, collecting chests and defeating enemies.
6. Defeat the Abyssal Patricius.
7. Use the Grapple and moving libraries to reach the tower's peak.
8. Locate and collect two Sonance Caskets: Ragunna.
9. Use the chandelier mechanism to reach the top.
10. After discovering Liel's demise, speak with Insula and Itzel.
11. Use the portal to confront and defeat the Abyssal Patricius.
12. Collect your rewards, including the Call of the Abyss Rectifier and a Premium Supply chest.

Exiting via the portal and speaking with your companions awards you the King of Thessaleo and Shadow of the Tower achievements.
