Wuthering Waves version 2.0 introduces the challenging Lifer, a unique Tacet Discord found within the Rinascita region's Oakheart Highcourt maze. This guide details how to defeat this formidable foe.
The Lifer resides at the maze's center, beneath the giant tree's roots. An accessible entrance is located southwest of Oakheart Highcourt, near the Resonance Beacon. Players can climb the walls or utilize the Flight function to reach it.
The Lifer is positioned beside a six-piece board game. Players control black pieces, aiming to create a three-piece line before the Lifer (white pieces). Placing a black piece on the outer circle opens corresponding maze walls and gates. Exiting the game preserves piece positions. While not mandatory for combat, the board game is crucial for debuffing the Lifer. Winning before debuffing is strongly discouraged.
The Lifer possesses seven buffs; four are removable using the Stake of Imbalance, while three are permanent. The buffs are visible on a glowing yellow module behind the Lifer.
Removable Buffs (Fragility):
Permanent Buffs (Stability):
To obtain Stakes of Imbalance, use the Sensor near the Lifer to reveal four purple lines leading to outer maze rooms. Manipulate the board game to open gates to these rooms. Each room contains a winged statue and a Stake of Imbalance (white glow). One room requires defeating Tacet Discords, another involves breaking Friable Rocks, and one is simply on a table. Place each Stake in the corresponding module to remove a buff; the purple line turns yellow upon success.
After removing all four removable buffs, engage the Lifer (either via the board game or by selecting "Fight it out!"). The debuffed Lifer is significantly weaker. Its attacks pose minimal threat.
First victory rewards a Premium Supply Chest. Second victory adds another Premium Supply Chest and three Basic Supply Chests. Third victory grants an Advanced Supply Chest and three Standard Supply Chests. Buffs can be re-enabled for a more challenging fight, but no achievements are tied to this.
For board game struggles, focus on preventing the Lifer from creating lines. The Lifer will eventually make a mistake.
