Free Fire's Winterlands festival is back, and this year it's more dazzling than ever with the introduction of the Winterlands: Aurora event. This festive update transforms the game into a breathtaking winter wonderland, complete with vibrant auroras that enhance the gaming experience with a slew of new features.
Introducing Koda, the newest character in Free Fire, hailing from a high-tech arctic region. Koda's unique ability, Aurora Vision, allows him to move at an accelerated pace and detect enemies concealed behind obstacles. Additionally, while parachuting, players can gain a tactical advantage by spotting enemy locations within their field of view.
Koda's compelling backstory adds depth to his character. As a child, he discovered a mystical fox mask beneath the shimmering glow of an aurora, which led to his bond with snow foxes. This connection now fuels his focus and speed on the battlefield, making him a formidable ally.
The aurora theme is central to this year's Winterlands event. The Bermuda map is now adorned with an aurora-filled sky and introduces the Aurora Forecast system. This weather predictor not only adds to the immersive environment but also dynamically affects gameplay by providing strategic buffs based on the forecast.
Another exciting addition is the Frosty Tracks—icy, rideable paths spread throughout the map in both Battle Royale and Clash Squad modes. Players can glide across these tracks at locations like the Festival Clock Tower and Factory in Bermuda, engaging in combat by shooting and throwing grenades. Hitting Special Coin Machines along these paths rewards players with 100 FF Coins. In Clash Squad, these frosty highways appear in areas such as Katulistiwa, Mill, and Hangar.
In Battle Royale mode, players should watch for aurora-affected Coin Machines, while in Clash Squad mode, keep an eye out for Supply Gadgets illuminated by the aurora. Engaging with these elements helps complete event quests and earn buffs for your entire squad.
Free Fire also enhances the social aspect of the game during the Winterlands: Aurora event. When playing with friends, they appear as adorable snowballs on the event interface, sliding alongside you. Completing friend-specific tasks unlocks exclusive rewards, including an AWM skin and a Melee Skin.
