World of Warcraft Patch 11.1 introduces a fun new way to personalize your character selection screen: collectible campsites! Four new backgrounds are available at launch, with more promised in future updates.
Blizzard has enhanced the Warbands character selection screen with customizable camps, each bearing unique names and unlockable backgrounds. The new system, now live on the Public Test Realm, allows players to select from multiple camp options. In addition to the original "Adventurer's Rest," Patch 11.1 offers four new campsites: Ohn'ahran Overlook, Cultists' Quay, Freywold Spring, and Gallagio Grand Gallery. Popular WoW content creator MrGM has already showcased these locations and their unlock methods.
Campground | Description | Unlock Method |
---|---|---|
Ohn'ahran Overlook | Centaur camp in the Ohn'ahran Plains | Logging in after Patch 11.1 |
Freywold Spring | Hot spring in Freywold Village, Isle of Dorn | "All That Khaz" meta-achievement from The War Within |
Cultists' Quay | Nightfall Sanctum Delve in Hallowfall | Season 2 Delver's Journey |
Gallagio Grand Gallery | Gallywix's casino in Undermine | "Racing to a Revolution" meta-achievement from Undermine |
Adventurer's Rest | Original Warbands campsite | Default |
The Ohn’ahran Overlook is automatically unlocked upon logging in after Patch 11.1. The Cultists’ Quay is earned through the Season 2 Delver’s Journey. Freywold Spring and Gallagio Grand Gallery are rewards for completing the "All That Khaz" and "Racing to a Revolution" meta-achievements, respectively.
These campsites, along with their unlock conditions, are accessible via a new tab in the Collections pane, providing easy preview and unlock functionality. The character selection screen now features a dedicated campsite tab, enabling players to select their preferred background or even randomize their choice upon login.
This customization builds upon the Warbands system from World of Warcraft: The War Within, showcasing Blizzard's commitment to ongoing innovation. Future updates will likely add more campsites, alongside other collectibles, potentially sourced from various in-game activities, events, the Trading Post, and even the in-game shop.
