Top Marvel Snap Decks for Lasher Dominance

Marvel Snap's Marvel Rivals season is winding down, but a freebie from October's We Are Venom season remains: Lasher, obtainable through the High Voltage game mode. Is this symbiote worth the effort? Let's find out.

Lasher's Role in Marvel Snap

Lasher is a 2-power, 2-cost card with the ability: "Activate: Afflict an enemy card here with negative Power equal to this card’s Power." Essentially, he inflicts -2 power on an opponent's card unless boosted. Given Marvel Snap's many buff options, Lasher's potential surpasses free cards like Agony and King Etri.

For example, Namora can transform Lasher into a 7-power card, or even a 12-power (or 24-power with Wong/Odin), making him a powerful addition. He synergizes particularly well with the season pass card, Galacta.

Remember, as an "Activate" card, playing Lasher by turn 5 maximizes his impact.

Optimal Lasher Decks

While Lasher's meta position is still developing, he fits well into buff-heavy decks, such as Silver Surfer. Although Silver Surfer decks often lack space for 2-cost cards, Lasher's late-game activation can significantly shift power dynamics. Consider this deck:

Nova, Forge, Lasher, Okoye, Brood, Silver Surfer, Killmonger, Nakia, Red Guardian, Sebastian Shaw, Copycat, Galacta. (Copyable from Untapped)

This deck features expensive Series 5 cards (Red Guardian, Sebastian Shaw, Copycat, Galacta), but alternatives exist for most, except perhaps Galacta. Lasher serves as a third target for Forge, ideally saved for Brood or Sebastian Shaw. After playing Galacta on turn 4, Lasher becomes crucial, turning a 2-cost, 5-power card (with Galacta's buff) into a virtual 10-power play by inflicting -5 power on an opponent's card.

This Silver Surfer deck is adaptable; consider removing Absorbing Man, Gwenpool, and Sera. Lasher thrives in decks with strong hand and board buffs, making the current meta a suitable environment. While he might see use in affliction decks without buffs, experimentation with Namora as a primary buff card holds promise.

Another example, although very expensive:

Agony, Zabu, Lasher, Psylocke, Hulk Buster, Jeff!, Captain Marvel, Scarlet Spider, Galacta, Gwenpool, Symbiote Spider-Man, Namora. (Copyable from Untapped)

This deck, heavily reliant on Series 5 cards (Scarlet Spider, Galacta, Gwenpool, Symbiote Spider-Man, Namora), utilizes Galacta, Gwenpool, and Namora to buff Lasher and Scarlet Spider, spreading power across the board. Zabu and Psylocke accelerate 4-cost card deployment, Symbiote Spider-Man reactivates Namora, and Jeff! and Hulk Buster offer backup.

Is High Voltage Grinding Worth It?

Given Marvel Snap's increasing cost, Lasher is a worthwhile acquisition if you're willing to grind High Voltage. This game mode offers numerous rewards before unlocking Lasher. While not a guaranteed meta staple, like Agony, he'll likely prove useful in several meta-relevant decks.
