Stellar Blade developer Shift Up has shattered financial records this year, with the hit action title generating an impressive $43 million in royalties. The upcoming PC release is already projected to surpass its PlayStation 5 counterpart in sales.

Game World Observer reports that Shift Up's latest financial disclosures show the studio pulled in $151.4 million in 2024 revenue – a substantial 30.4% year-over-year increase. A significant $43.2 million chunk came directly from Stellar Blade royalties.

More Success On The Horizon

The studio shows no signs of slowing down, confidently predicting stronger PC sales performance compared to the PS5 version, particularly across Asian markets. Shift Up also confirmed plans to unveil its next project - code-named 'Project Witches' - by mid-2025. However, fans hoping for a Stellar Blade sequel might need to wait longer.

Project Witches entered development shortly after Stellar Blade's PS5 debut, before demand for a sequel gained momentum. That said, Shift Up executives have acknowledged fan requests and confirmed they're exploring additional content within the Stellar Blade universe.

About Stellar Blade

The action RPG puts players in the armored boots of protagonist Eve as she wages war against alien invaders in frenetic, skill-based combat. Despite IGN's 7/10 review noting narrative weaknesses, the title quickly achieved commercial success with over a million copies sold.

Our assessment noted: "While Stellar Blade nails the crucial combat fundamentals, its bland storytelling and occasionally frustrating RPG mechanics prevent it from reaching the upper echelons of the genre."
