Nintendo recently took to their Twitter (X) account to announce that their interactive alarm clock, Alarmo, will be more widely available starting March 2025. In just a couple of months, you'll be able to find Alarmo at major retailers like Target, Walmart, GameStop, and other Nintendo-approved stores worldwide.

The good news continues: the requirement for a Nintendo Online membership to purchase Alarmo will be removed, making it accessible to everyone. You can grab this unique sound clock for $99.99 USD.

While fans are thrilled about this development, the buzz around a potential Switch 2 announcement continues to grow. However, Nintendo has kept quiet on that front, leaving fans eagerly awaiting any news.

Nintendo Alarmo Sold Out A Day After its Announcement

The demand for Alarmo was evident right after its announcement on October 9, 2024. In Japan, the device sold out so quickly that Nintendo had to suspend sales and switch to a lottery system for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers. Here's what Nintendo had to say:

"We have received a large number of orders for the Nintendo Sound Clock Alarmo, which was released on October 9th, so we are currently suspending sales of the product on the My Nintendo Store. In response to this, we are currently preparing to change the sales method at My Nintendo Store to a lottery sale for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers, so please wait for a while. We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause to our customers. Furthermore, we will continue to produce the products in order to deliver them to as many customers as possible."

In New York City, Alarmo also sold out on the same day, but without a lottery system. The store promised to notify customers once more stock was available.

Nintendo Alarmo Features

Alarmo, launched by Nintendo in 2024, brings the world of gaming into your morning routine. This alarm clock features sound effects from popular games like Super Mario Odyssey, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Splatoon 3, and more. With 42 scenes to choose from, and the promise of free updates including scenes from Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Alarmo offers a personalized wake-up experience.

When you set an alarm, a character from your chosen game will appear on the screen. As the alarm sounds, the character will gently wake you with soothing sounds. If you linger in bed, a more insistent visitor will appear, and the sound will grow louder, encouraging you to rise. Thanks to its motion sensor, you can silence the alarm by simply getting up, no need to touch the device.

Beyond its alarm function, Alarmo enhances your bedroom ambiance with hourly chimes and sleep sounds themed to your selected scene. It also tracks your sleep patterns, recording your time in bed and movement during sleep.

For those sharing a bed with others or pets, Nintendo recommends using Alarmo's Button Mode. Initially, a Nintendo Online membership was required, but this restriction will be lifted with the expanded release in March 2025.
