Monster Hunter Wilds Day One Patch: File Size Revealed

The highly anticipated *Monster Hunter Wilds* has just rolled out its day-one patch, and players are buzzing about its hefty 18GB file size. This substantial update initially launched on PlayStation 5, with Capcom set to extend it to other platforms soon. Although the patch notes are still under wraps, the gaming community is abuzz with speculation about what this update brings to the table.

A popular theory among fans is that this patch introduces high-resolution textures to the game. Review copies sent out earlier reportedly missed these stunning visuals, which could account for the large update size, as high-resolution textures demand considerable storage. Moreover, since the patch debuted on the PS5, it might also include enhancements tailored for the PS5 Pro, ensuring an optimized gameplay experience for console players. Capcom has already confirmed that *Monster Hunter Wilds* will be a PS5 Pro-enhanced title at launch, adding credibility to this notion.

Another expected inclusion in this patch is a series of bug fixes. Despite Capcom's diligent efforts to polish the game, several bugs still need addressing. It's standard practice to tackle these issues with the first patch, enhancing the overall gaming experience.

While labeled as a day-one patch, those who pre-ordered *Monster Hunter Wilds* can download it ahead of the February 28 release date. Players with slower internet connections are advised to install the patch before the launch to ensure a seamless first playthrough. It's worth noting, however, that this patch, despite its size, is unlikely to include new content. Tagged as version 1.000.020, it's considered a minor update focused primarily on performance improvements and bug fixes.

For those eagerly awaiting new content, *Monster Hunter Wilds* has planned post-launch DLCs. There are three paid DLC packs available for purchase. Additionally, two free content updates are on the horizon. The first, arriving in spring, will introduce Mizutsune along with new event quests. A second free update is scheduled for summer, promising new monsters and missions to keep the adventure going.

*Monster Hunter Wilds* is slated for release on PC and consoles on February 28, promising an exhilarating experience for hunters worldwide.
