MGS4 PS5 & Xbox Port Teased by Konami, Potentially Marking First Time It's Playable Outside of PS3

MGS Master Collection Vol. 2: MGS4 Remake on the Horizon?

Konami producer Noriaki Okamura, in a recent IGN interview, subtly hinted at the possibility of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots (MGS4) being remade and included in MGS Master Collection Vol. 2, alongside ports for next-gen consoles. While acknowledging the fervent fan speculation surrounding a PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC release, Okamura remained officially non-committal.

"We're aware of the MGS4 situation," Okamura stated to IGN. "With Vol. 1 covering MGS 1-3, you can probably infer... We're internally focused on the series' future. No concrete details yet, but stay tuned!"

The possibility of MGS4, a PS3 exclusive since its 2008 debut, appearing in Master Collection Vol. 2 has captivated fans. The successful release of Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1, featuring remastered versions of the first three games on various platforms including PC and Switch, fuels this anticipation.

Last year, placeholder buttons for MGS4, MGS5, and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker appeared on Konami's official timeline, further fueling the MGS4 remake rumors. IGN reported that these titles are likely candidates for Master Collection Vol. 2, although Konami has yet to offer official confirmation.

Adding to the intrigue, David Hayter, the English voice actor for Solid Snake, hinted at his involvement in an MGS4-related project on social media last November. Currently, Konami remains tight-lipped regarding the contents and plans for Master Collection Vol. 2, leaving fans eagerly awaiting official news on the highly anticipated MGS4 remake.
