Mask Around: The Sequel to Mask Up Delivers More Gooey Action!
Following the 2020 release of the unique roguelike platformer Mask Up, developer Rouli returns with Mask Around, a sequel that expands upon the original's bizarre charm. Remember the yellow ooze? It's back, along with exciting new gameplay twists.
While Mask Up focused on 2D brawling, Mask Around introduces 2D shooting mechanics. Players can seamlessly switch between ranged combat and the close-quarters goo-based attacks of its predecessor. However, the precious yellow ooze remains a limited resource, demanding strategic use, especially during challenging boss encounters.
More Than Just Goo
Available now on Google Play (with an iOS release yet to be announced), Mask Around appears to be a significant upgrade. It retains the core gameplay of the original while significantly enhancing it with new features. Strategic resource management is key, as is knowing when to utilize your weapons alongside your goo abilities. The game also boasts improved visuals.
