Marvel Rivals Season 1 is packed with exciting new content, including the introduction of the Fantastic Four and a variety of new maps set in a Marvel-themed New York. Here's a comprehensive look at all the new maps added in Season 1.
Empire of Eternal Night: Midtown
Empire of Eternal Night: The Mystical Sanctum Santorum
Empire of Eternal Night: Central Park
Empire of Eternal Night: Midtown kicked off Season 1 as the first new map to be released. Designed for the Convoy mode, this map challenges players to either escort or stop a moving vehicle across the map. It's the third Convoy map in Marvel Rivals, joining Yggsgard: Yggdrasill Path and Tokyo 2099: Spider-Islands.
Set under the eerie glow of Dracula’s Blood Moon, Midtown captures the essence of a darkened New York City. Key Points of Interest on the map include iconic Marvel locations and real-world Midtown Manhattan landmarks such as:
The Empire of Eternal Night version of Doctor Strange’s Sanctum Santorum was added to Marvel Rivals in Season 1, exclusively hosting the Doom Match mode. In Doom Match, players engage in a free-for-all deathmatch, striving to outlast and outgun others to secure a top position on the leaderboard and potentially earn MVP status.
The Sanctum Santorum map is a stunning depiction of Doctor Strange’s mystical mansion, first introduced in a 1963 comic and well-known from its appearances in the MCU. Located in New York City, it serves as a supernatural defense hub in Marvel Rivals. The map is filled with hidden secrets, supernatural rooms, impossible ceilings, portals, and an infinite staircase. Players can also interact with Bats The Ghost Dog, adding an extra layer of immersion.
Scheduled for release in the latter part of Season 1, the Central Park map remains somewhat mysterious. Located in Manhattan between the Upper West Side and Upper East Side, Central Park has been a familiar setting in various Marvel media, most recently in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 video game.
In Marvel Rivals, the map will focus on a stylized version of Belvedere Castle, situated at one of the park's highest points. The Gothic architecture of this miniature castle will complement the Empire of Eternal Night theme, potentially serving as a strategic hideout for Dracula within the game.
These are all the new maps introduced in Marvel Rivals Season 1, each bringing unique gameplay and thematic elements to enhance the gaming experience.
