Warhorse Studios has just rolled out a major free update for Kingdom Come: Deliverance II - version 1.2. This update brings exciting new features that enhance the gameplay experience, including native mod integration through Steam Workshop and a brand-new barber shop system.

With the Steam Workshop integration, players can now easily download and install mods directly within the game, bypassing the need for external platforms. This feature hinges on mod creators uploading their content to Steam Workshop. Currently, the selection is modest but includes intriguing options such as:

  • Free Saving: This mod replenishes the "Saviour Schnapps" item every time it's used or lost, allowing for unlimited saves.
  • Helmet of Henry VIII: Players can don a unique horned helmet inspired by historical designs.
  • Tourist: This mod disables NPC reactions to trespassing, granting access to otherwise restricted story locations.
  • Pebbles the Zebra: Transform your horse into a zebra with a distinctive visual effect.

Although the number of mods available on Steam Workshop is currently limited, the vibrant modding community is poised to expand rapidly. With over a thousand mods already thriving on Nexus Mods, it's anticipated that creators will soon share their work on both platforms. While Steam Workshop might not match the scale of Nexus Mods, popular mods are expected to make their way there soon.

In addition to mod support, players can now visit NPC barbers in Rattay and Kuttenberg to customize their hairstyle or beard. Each visit to the barber provides a temporary boost to the protagonist's Charisma stat, regardless of the chosen style.

Update 1.2 is packed with more than just these new features. Warhorse Studios has released an extensive changelog on the game’s official website, highlighting over a thousand fixes and improvements across various aspects of the game. These include balancing adjustments, refined animations, and enhanced NPC behavior. The crime system, for instance, has been fine-tuned for greater accuracy.

Other significant updates encompass:

  • Revised daily schedules for NPCs, making their routines more realistic.
  • Enhanced horse riding mechanics and improved horse trading systems.
  • Better character visuals and overall performance, especially in Kuttenberg, the game's largest city, and during large-scale battles.

Warhorse Studios will provide more insights into these changes during a developer livestream scheduled for next Thursday. The studio remains dedicated to supporting Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, with three paid DLC expansions slated for release in spring, summer, and winter.

With the addition of Steam Workshop integration, new cosmetic options, and a plethora of gameplay enhancements, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II continues to evolve, offering players an even richer medieval experience.
