Since its September 2024 launch, *Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2* has consistently received post-launch updates, especially for its online multiplayer. Want to get a sneak peek at upcoming content? Here's how to access the *Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2* public test server.
Important Note: The public test server is currently only available on PC via Steam; it's not accessible on PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S.
For PC players, accessing the test server is straightforward. Simply locate *Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2* in your Steam library. The public test server will appear as a separate entry below the main game, provided you've purchased the game on Steam. Download and install the test server—it has its own separate files.
The *Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2* public test server features new PvE and PvP content, including new weapons, customization options, and more. The PvE mode boasts a brand-new map, relaxed class restrictions on weapons, and revised online gameplay features. Remember, this content is a work in progress and subject to change before the official release.
Online gameplay improvements include enhanced matchmaking for both PvE and PvP, focusing on balanced teams. PvE matchmaking aims to prevent players from selecting the same class on the same team and includes a prestige leveling system. PvP offers expanded lobby customization options.
Please note: Mods from the main game won't work on the test server. While you can create and customize content using the test server's assets, this content won't transfer to the main game. Currently, there's no confirmation on whether progression or content will carry over from the test server to the main game; it's not expected.
