Indus, the Indian-made battle royale shooter, has surpassed five million Android downloads and 100,000 iOS downloads within two months of its release. This follows a successful international playtest in Manila and a Google Play Best Made in India Game 2024 award win.
SuperGaming, the developer, aims to establish Indus as a leading Indian gaming title, vying with competitors like FAU-G: Domination. The Manila playtest at the YGG Play Summit provided valuable feedback from international esports players.
Furthermore, SuperGaming launched the Clutch India Movement, an esports initiative featuring the Indus International Tournament. Running from October 2024 to February 2025, this tournament boasts a ₹2.5 crore (approximately $31,000 USD) prize pool.
Significant Achievement, Further Growth Anticipated
While Indus's five million downloads are impressive, they fall slightly short of the initial ten million pre-registrations. However, pre-registration numbers rarely translate directly to downloads, and the lower iOS download count suggests a need for further penetration in that market segment.
Despite this, SuperGaming's rapid progression with international playtests and an esports tournament demonstrates ambitious growth plans for Indus.
