Have you ever downloaded an app and then completely forgotten to use it? Google Play Store may have the answer. A new feature is reportedly in the works that will automatically launch newly installed apps.
The Details
Android Authority reports Google Play is developing a feature to streamline app installation. This potential addition would open downloaded apps immediately upon completion. No more searching for icons or wondering if the download finished – the app will launch automatically.
This isn't confirmed; the information comes from an APK teardown of Play Store version 41.4.19. There's no official announcement or release date. However, if released, the feature will likely be called "App Auto Open" and will be entirely optional. Users can enable or disable auto-launching as desired.
The process is straightforward. Upon download completion, a notification banner will appear for about five seconds. Your phone may also ring or vibrate (depending on settings), ensuring you won't miss it.
This information is unofficial, so a release date remains unknown. We'll update you with any official announcements from Google.
