Dungeonborne Officially Announces Shutdown Preparation

The developers behind the PvPvE action game *Dungeonborne*, which drew inspiration from the well-known *Dark and Darker*, have recently announced that they will cease support for the game and shut down its servers. Despite initial enthusiasm, *Dungeonborne* struggled to maintain its player base, ultimately succumbing to low player activity and a lack of substantial updates over its less-than-a-year lifespan.

Although *Dungeonborne*'s page remains visible on Steam, it has been removed from the platform's search results and can only be accessed via a direct link. While the official reasons for the game's closure have not been explicitly stated, it's evident that the game's dwindling player numbers were a significant factor. Since late 2024, the game's concurrent player count hovered around a mere 200, and in the days leading up to the announcement, this number plummeted to just 10-15 players.

The servers for *Dungeonborne* are scheduled for permanent shutdown on May 28, effectively concluding the game's journey. This marks the end of a project that, despite its initial promise and appeal to fans of the genre, was unable to fulfill its potential and will now recede into gaming history.
