Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio is gearing up for an exciting 20th anniversary celebration for the beloved Like A Dragon (LAD) series, set to take place in December 2025. To kick things off, RGG Studios has launched a unique fan-voting project, allowing fans to have a say in what merchandise they want to see become a reality. This initiative not only engages the community but also promises to bring some of the most iconic in-game items into the real world.
The voting project, which started on February 8, 2025, and will run until March 21, 2025, offers fans the chance to vote on 100 different items. These range from unique pieces like lingerie, incense, and mahjong tiles to more thematic choices such as a karaoke microphone, a luxury lighter, 20th-anniversary sake, themed pillows, and Kiryu's iconic dragon mask. RGG Studios has promised that the top-voted item will be commercialized within the next two years, ensuring that fans' favorite items will make it to market. Voting is limited to once per day, and after the voting period, a questionnaire will help decide the design of the winning item.
In a video posted on Twitter (X) on December 8, 2024, during the series' 19th anniversary, RGG Studio's Director and Executive Producer Masayoshi Yokoyama expressed his gratitude to the fans and teased what's to come. Yokoyama hinted at various events and announcements leading up to the big day, fueling speculation about potential remakes, similar to what happened during the 10th anniversary, which saw the release of Yakuza 0 and Yakuza Kiwami.
