Locating the Music Box

Similar to other cursed objects in Phasmophobia, the Music Box has a 1/7 chance of appearing on any given map. Its spawn is entirely random; there's no guaranteed method to find one. Only a single Music Box can spawn per game. Once located, interact with it to activate its functionality.

Utilizing the Music Box

The Music Box offers several strategic advantages. Upon activation, it plays a melody. If a ghost is within 20 meters, it will "sing along," revealing its approximate location. Proximity matters: within five meters, the ghost will approach the Music Box. You can strategically place the activated Music Box on the ground to lure the ghost. The music stops automatically after the song concludes. Note that holding the Music Box depletes your sanity.

Initiating a Hunt with the Music Box

The Music Box can trigger either a standard or cursed hunt, depending on specific circumstances:

• Throwing the active Music Box: Throwing the box while it's playing initiates a cursed hunt.
• 0% Sanity while holding the active Music Box: Reaching 0% sanity while holding and playing the Music Box triggers a cursed hunt.
• Ghost proximity to the active Music Box (5+ seconds): If the ghost remains near the active Music Box for over five seconds, a cursed hunt begins.
• Ghost proximity to the player holding the active Music Box: A ghost near the player holding the active Music Box can also initiate a hunt.

For optimal use, consider bringing supplementary tools like Smudge Sticks to increase your survival chances during a hunt. This allows for ghost identification or objective completion.
