Diablo + Escape from Tarkov. Developer Wolcen announced “ExtrAction RPG” Project Pantheon

Wolcen Studio has announced Project Pantheon, a free-to-play action RPG incorporating elements of extraction shooter gameplay. A closed alpha test begins January 25th in Europe, expanding to North America on February 1st.

"We've combined the high-stakes risk/reward of extraction shooters with the dynamic combat of ARPGs," explains game director Andrei Cirkulete. The game clearly draws inspiration from titles like Diablo and Escape from Tarkov. Player feedback will be crucial to the development process.

Players assume the role of a Death messenger, battling AI and other players across diverse maps. Successful evacuations preserve hard-earned trophies; failure results in complete loot loss.

Customization is key, with base building, equipment personalization, and varied playstyles encouraged. The game world draws upon global mythologies, with player trading forming the core of its economy.

The initial adventure takes place in "Destiny's Edge," a region inspired by Scandinavian folklore. Despite being in early alpha, the developers are committed to active community involvement to shape the game's future.
