Crunchyroll has recently expanded its Android vault by adding the delightful single-player management game, Kardboard Kings. Originally launched for PC in February 2022, this charming shop-keeper adventure has now been ported to mobile devices, thanks to Crunchyroll. If you're a Crunchyroll member, you can enjoy this game for free on the Google Play Store.
In Kardboard Kings, you step into the shoes of Harry Hsu, who inherits a card shop from his father—a renowned card collector and former champion of the iconic card game, Warlock. As the new proprietor, Harry embarks on an exciting journey of buying, selling, and trading cards.
Harry is not alone in his venture; he's joined by Giuseppe, a clever cockatoo with a flair for fast-talking and an uncanny ability to spot lucrative deals. Together, they run the shop nestled in a picturesque seaside location, striving to keep every customer satisfied. If you're feeling a bit mischievous, you can even try to swindle customers for some extra cash.
The game is brimming with charming characters, each infused with sarcasm and references to other card games and anime. The cards themselves are a highlight, featuring over 100 unique designs with quirky illustrations, including shiny variants that add to the allure.
The gameplay begins simply: buy low, sell high, and turn a profit. As you delve deeper, you'll encounter varying card conditions and set rarities, with factors like foil finish, abilities, and popularity influencing a card's value.
Kardboard Kings also introduces a roguelite deckbuilding mode on Card Game Island, where you can challenge serious duelists. You can host tournaments, organize booster pack parties, or hold clearance sales to manage your inventory effectively.
As a Crunchyroll member, don't miss the opportunity to dive into Kardboard Kings on the Google Play Store.
