In *Avowed*, keeping your weapons upgraded is crucial for surviving the game's escalating challenges. At the start, you'll face mostly Common, or Level I, weapons and enemies. As you progress, they'll scale up to Level II, necessitating Fine gear to keep pace with the increased difficulty. Here's how you can acquire Tier II/Fine weapons and armor in *Avowed*.

How to Upgrade Weapons and Armor from Common (I) to Fine (II) in Avowed

While some weapons and armor might already be Fine Quality or available for purchase, others require upgrading to achieve this status. In *Avowed*, gear effectiveness is tracked in two ways: Quality and Levels. Quality is indicated by a descriptor, color, and Roman numeral. Common, or Green, items are marked with I, while Fine, or Blue, items are marked with II. Additionally, each Quality tier is subdivided into three levels, from +1 to +3.

To upgrade gear from Common (I) to Fine (II), you'll need to visit a Party Camp, where you can use the workbench to enhance your gear. You must progress through each level from +1 to +3, with each requiring specific materials depending on the gear type. After reaching +3, you can further upgrade to Fine (II), which demands Adra—a rare and valuable crystal. You can obtain Adra through Quest rewards, purchasing from Merchants, or by dismantling Unique weapons and armor.

Where to Find and Purchase Fine (II) Weapons and Armor in Avowed

Avowed Fine II Weapons and ArmorWhile upgrading is effective, it can be resource-intensive. Alternatively, you can find Fine (II) weapons and armor early in your journey in Dawnshore, though these are rare. These items may drop from defeated Level II enemies, particularly Bounties. However, using Common gear against these foes can be risky due to their reduced effectiveness, so stock up on health potions.

Fine weapons and armor are also available for purchase from Merchants in Paradis. You'll gain access to Paradis shortly after defeating the Dreamscourge-infested bear boss in Dawnshore during the early stages of the Main Quest. Near the Bounty Board in Paradis, you'll find a pair of sister Merchants. Merlylin specializes in Fine magical items like grimoires and wands, while her blacksmith sister offers more conventional weapons and armor (as shown above) at the adjacent stall.

And that's how you can equip yourself with Fine weapons and armor in *Avowed*.
