Xbox Game Pass January 2025: New Games and Departures

Microsoft has unveiled its first Xbox Game Pass lineup for 2025, confirming several anticipated titles and announcing some departures. The January additions include a mix of genres, catering to various player preferences. This follows recent service updates including age restrictions and revised reward systems.

The initial announcement, made via the official Xbox blog on January 7th, 2025, highlights seven new games. Road 96, a narrative adventure, is immediately available across all Game Pass tiers (including PC). This marks its return to the service after a previous stint. Six other titles join the lineup later in the month, with most arriving on January 8th, and two on January 14th.

New Games Arriving in January 2025:

  • Road 96: Available January 7th (All Tiers)
  • Lightyear Frontier (Preview): Available January 8th (Standard & Above)
  • My Time at Sandrock: Available January 8th (Standard & Above)
  • Robin Hood – Sherwood Builders: Available January 8th (Standard & Above)
  • Rolling Hills: Available January 8th (Standard & Above)
  • UFC 5: Available January 14th (Ultimate Only)
  • Diablo: Available January 14th (Ultimate & PC Game Pass)

Noteworthy is the tier exclusivity for Diablo and UFC 5. Diablo is limited to Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers, while UFC 5 is an Ultimate-only offering. The remaining games are accessible with a standard subscription. Lightyear Frontier, a sci-fi title, remains in early access.

Alongside the new games, several Game Pass Ultimate perks launched on January 7th, including weapon charms for Apex Legends and DLC for First Descendant, Vigor, and Metaball.

However, with new additions come departures. Six games are leaving the service on January 15th, as previously indicated in Xbox app updates and now officially confirmed by Microsoft:

  • Common'hood
  • Escape Academy
  • Exoprimal
  • Figment
  • Insurgency Sandstorm
  • Those Who Remain

This initial lineup covers only the first half of January. Further announcements for the latter half of the month and beyond are expected soon.
