According to a recent Bloomberg report, Warner Bros. has canceled an unannounced paid DLC for the popular game, Hogwarts Legacy. The planned story expansion was set to be released this year alongside a "Definitive Edition" of the game. However, the decision to cancel the DLC came after concerns that "the amount of content was not substantial enough to justify the price being considered," as per Bloomberg's sources. Warner Bros. declined to comment on the report.

This cancellation comes amidst broader restructuring efforts within Warner Bros.' gaming division, which has been grappling with financial challenges. Earlier this year, the company canceled its planned Wonder Woman game and shut down the studio responsible for its development, Monolith Productions. Additionally, Warner Bros. closed WB San Diego and MultiVersus studio Player First Games, and laid off employees at Rocksteady in September of the previous year.

Despite the cancellation of the Hogwarts Legacy DLC, Warner Bros. continues to emphasize the importance of the Hogwarts Legacy and the Harry Potter franchise as key assets. The company has reiterated that a sequel to Hogwarts Legacy is "one of the biggest priorities" as it shifts focus towards fewer but larger franchises. The original game has achieved significant success, selling over 30 million copies.
