War Robots collaborates with Kunio Okawara, veteran robot designer.

When it comes to mecha, Japan stands head and shoulders above the rest as pioneers of the genre. With two key iterations, real robot and super robot, their influence is undeniable. Now, My.Games' War Robots is set to collaborate with veteran designer Kunio Okawara for an exclusive in-game design that promises to excite fans of the genre!

Okawara's work is perhaps most recognizable for his creation of the iconic Gundam, in collaboration with writer Yoshiyuki Tomino. This instantly recognizable mascot of the real robot genre has appeared in numerous series over the years and even featured in blockbuster Hollywood films like Ready Player One.

Soon, you'll have the chance to pilot an original creation by Kunio Okawara himself—the SWORD Unit 190, developed in-universe by the DSC Corporation. Okawara has also designed optional drones and plasma guns to equip with this new unit, adding to the excitement.

You'll need to wait a little bit before getting your hands on the new SWORD unit. However, it's set to take a starring role in the upcoming MECHA Raider S.W.O.R.D event, taking place from May 20th to June 1st.
